The Word Cup got off to a fantastic start with today's first round action. As expected, Section 11 put in a strong performance and won Match #3 after some intense training sessions with Word Cup winning coach Stephan, but it was Mahra, Amna, Amal and Alyazia of section16 that topped the scoring with an amazing 13 points in Match #1. Laura, Sharifa, Shaima and Mahia were just one point behind in that match, as they represented section 4. They will be a tough team to beat in the future. In Match #2, Sections 7's Hamda, Zainab, Noof and Rawdha cruised to victory with a strong 12-point performance. Mohammed Husein, Suhail, Sultan and Hareth of section 902 made sure that the men would top one group with their impressive victory in Match #4. The first three teams from each group will play in the 2nd round on Thursday, and everyone can start learning the round 2 words already. Sadly, we must say farewell to sections 9, 10, 12 and 901 as they have been eliminated from the competition. Thank you for playing.
